  • Learn the Basic WellO2 Breath

    • The foundation of all WellO2 training is one full breath cycle – one WellO2 breath = one exhale and one inhale through the device.

    • • Always exhale first to fill the device with steam.

    • • Inhale immediately after, slowly and deeply.

    • • Aim for smooth, controlled breathing — not forced or rushed.

    • • Start with 1–5 full breath cycles and increase gradually up to 10.

    • • Breathe in through your mouth or nose depending on your training goal and feeling.

WellO2 MyBreath smart mouthpiece

Track Your Breathing Progress with WellO2 MyBreath

Want to take your WellO2 training further? MyBreath is a smart mouthpiece accessory for the WellO2 breathing trainer. It enables guided breathing tests via the WellO2 app that measure:

  • Breathing power – how effectively your respiratory system performs in everyday life
  • Breathing capacity – how much of your lung volume you’re using
  • Airflow – how open your airways and bronchial tubes are

The test results are stored in the WellO2 app to help you monitor your progress and support consistent training.

WellO2 Training Tips by Purpose

Immediate Breathing Relief

WellO2 training can help soothe irritated airways, loosen mucus, and support easier breathing during and after seasonal breathing challenges.

  • Use resistance level 0 (lowest setting).
  • Set temperature to medium or high.
  • If your nose feels blocked, train through the WellO2 nasal mask.
  • Breathe in and out 1–10 times per round. Take breaks if needed.
  • Repeat 1–3 times per session, morning and evening.
  • Listen to your body – discontinue use if breathing becomes difficult, symptoms worsen, or you experience pain or discomfort.

Note: Do not use the WellO2 device if you have a high fever.

Sleep & Snoring

WellO2 training may help reduce snoring, support better nasal airflow, and relieve dry airways caused by mouth breathing. The soothing warm steam also relaxes the body and mind before bedtime as it deepens your breathing rhythm.

  • Use nasal mask before bedtime to encourage nasal breathing.
  • Start with low resistance (0) and low or medium temperature.
  • Perform 1–10 breaths per round. Take breaks if needed.
  • Repeat 2–3 rounds based on comfort.
  • Use in the morning as well if your airways feel dry.
  • The best results will be achieved by training twice a day.

Sports & Physical Activity

WellO2 training can help improve breathing efficiency, support oxygen uptake, and prepare your lungs for physical effort. Regular use may enhance performance and recovery, especially when integrated into your warm-up and cool-down routines.

You can also use the WellO2 MyBreath to track your breathing development alongside your physical training. It helps you monitor progress and stay consistent with your routines.

  • Pre- and post-workout routine.
  • Begin at resistance 0 and increase over time.
  • 1–2 sessions per day for first month
  • Maintenance training: 2–3x/week after that.

Rest your respiratory muscles 2 days/week like any strength training.

Voice Care

WellO2 training can help warm up and protect your voice before use, and support recovery after speaking or singing. The warm steam moisturizes the vocal cords and reduces dryness, while breathing exercises may reduce vocal strain and relax your body.

  • Use before and after heavy voice use.
  • Low resistance and low temperature.
  • 1–10 repetitions, repeat once or twice.
  • Daily use recommended.

Older Adults / Low Mobility

WellO2 training offers support for respiratory health, helping reduce shortness of breath, remove mucus from the airways, and support overall wellbeing in everyday life. Even when exercising feels too heavy or mobility is limited, WellO2 can help support and maintain breathing power.

If holding the device feels too heavy, you can place WellO2 on a table and use the extension hose to perform the exercises comfortably while seated.

  • Low resistance (0), low or medium temperature.
  • 1–10 repetitions, 1–2 rounds. Take breaks if needed.

Even light daily use improves comfort and breathing quality.

Building Progress Over Time

  • Week 1–2: Start at resistance 0
  • Week 3–4: Slightly increase resistance as it feels easier
  • Week 5–6: Continue training or switch to 2–3x/week maintenance use

Regular use brings best results. Adjust resistance gradually with the WellO2 breathing device.

As you build your training habit, you may experience:

  • Improved breathing rhythm and control
  • Increased respiratory muscle strength
  • Better tolerance to daily physical or vocal strain
  • Faster recovery from breathing challenges
  • A calmer, more focused state through deeper breathing

You can also use the MyBreath alongside your WellO2 training to track breathing performance and see how your breathing power improves over time.

WellO2 Tips & Troubleshooting

  • Steam not strong enough? Exhale into the device a few times before your first full breath to generate more steam
  • Steam feels hot? Use nose cream or adjust temperature
  • Nasal mask uncomfortable? Start with shorter sessions and adjust position until it feels right
  • Congested? Start with nasal exhale only or train through your mouth
  • Feeling light-headed? Slow down and reduce repetitions and resistance – breathe gently and rest as needed
  • Resistance too hard? Rotate dial back slightly
  • Device feels heavy? Place WellO2 on a table and use the extension hose while seated

Real people. Real results.

I regularly inhale warm steam, including to the upper respiratory tract with the help of the nasal mask that comes with the device. This is especially important during the flu season when the risk of getting sick is higher. I have managed to stay exceptionally healthy for the last three training seasons. Using WellO2 has been one of my key preventative ways to avoid getting sick.

I now take my WellO2 device with me everywhere in the world. I’ve had it for about a year. No matter the temperature or humidity – if my voice feels a bit dry or rough, just a few minutes with this device, and I’m singing like a Vienna Boys' Choir member.

I was surprised by how pleasant it felt to breathe with the WellO2 device. The nasal mask, in particular, was very helpful. I find the device easy and comfortable to use.

While running, I noticed how much easier breathing felt. The improvement in oxygen intake becomes evident when you don’t get out of breath as quickly.

I would recommend the WellO2 device to anyone who breathes, but especially to those who experience respiratory issues or frequently get sick. It’s also great for families with children!

I have noticed that my breathing has overall become stronger and clearer with the use of WellO2. I use it at least twice a day, in the morning and evening. WellO2 not only exercises the lungs but also all the other muscles needed for voice production, including the side and abdominal muscles. Considering the good results, the time investment is not very much. I always have it with me on tours.

I've slept better since I started using the device, and I also feel more refreshed. I used to be ashamed to constantly clear my throat around people, but now I feel relieved. It’s a good device, I certainly give it a ten out of ten. Good and easy!

I bought my WellO2 and I noticed a significant improvement in my breathing after the very first use. Back when I was a professional athlete, I even took my WellO2 with me on competition trips.

In my opinion, WellO2 is suitable for everyone. It helps your body relax in the evenings, and most importantly, it’s great for easing symptoms when a cold strikes, reducing the severity of aftereffects compared to not using WellO2.

Using the nasal mask that comes with the device in the evening clears my nose completely, making it much easier to go to sleep. Since starting with WellO2, I haven’t needed to use nasal drops anymore.

WellO2 training has greatly helped my instrument playing. It has opened up my airways, relaxed my muscles, and activated my intercostal muscles. Additionally, it has made my breathing deeper, which allows for a more relaxed and resonant sound from my instrument.
